A letter from Mrs. Karpus

Dear St. Charles School families,

In an abundance of caution from Governor Whitmer and the Michigan Department of Health and Human Services, along with direction from the Office of Catholic Schools, St. Charles School will be closed beginning Monday, March 16, 2020.

This is certainly an emergency school closure that is beyond our control, as well as a public health situation. We will continue to update you as we get more information. As you know, this is a very fluid situation. Following is what we now are certain of:

  • Students will be taking books and school work with them today to complete during the two week emergency school closure. If your student was not in school today, you can pick up work in the school office next week. Please call to confirm what time and day works best for you.
  • Teachers will keep you informed of assignments. Some teachers will use Google Classroom, while others will use email.
  • It is the intent that we will resume school on Monday, April 6, 2020. Please know that this could change.
  • Mrs. Rittersdorf and myself will be available at school if you have any questions or concerns.

Please know that this is a difficult time for all of us. We care about each and every student and want what is best for our school, community, and beyond.

I have asked the children to continue to pray for all people affected by the COVID-19. Please find family time to pray as well.

Again, we will continue to update you as we receive more information. Thank you for your support.

Lenten blessings,

Margaret Karpus
