Q. How much is tuition?

Tuition for the 2024-25 school year is $4,300.00 for one child; $6,900.00 for two children; and $7,900.00 for three or more children.  ,

Q. Is there a dress code?

Yes, we believe that a dress code creates a positive learning environment, creates a sense of pride and belonging, and eliminates competition among students.

Q. Is bus transportation to St. Charles School available?

Students at St. Charles ride the Greenville Public School bus.  At this time, St. Charles School funds this service.

Q. Is St. Charles School accredited?

St. Charles Borromeo School is accredited through the Michigan Association of Non-Public Schools.  Every seven years. a full study is done to see if the school meets the requirements for full accreditation.

Q. Does St. Charles offer preschool?

Our preschool program is fully tailored to meet your needs.  Your child is able to come either half or full days and from 2 days to 5 days a week.  Please see the attached inquiry form for pricing and preferred days for your child to go to preschool.

 Q. Does St. Charles offer all-day or half-day kindergarten?

St. Charles has an all-day, every-day kindergarten program.

Q. Does my child have to be Catholic to attend?

St. Charles School accepts children of all faiths.  Students participate in religion classes and attend Mass with their class.  Non-Catholics do not receive the Sacraments.

Q. Is there a hot lunch program?

St. Charles does not have a hot lunch program but we do offer milk to our students everyday.  Students bring in cold lunches, but on Tuesdays and Fridays, pizza may be ordered for students. 

Q. How large are the class sizes?

The average class size at St. Charles is 16 students.

Q. Are any extracurricular activities offered?

St. Charles offers girls’ and boys’ basketball for grades 3-8, along with girls’ volleyball for grades 5-8.  Students also may participate in track as fifth- through eighth-graders.  A children’s choir also is an opportunity for students, and Christmas and spring plays provide another chance to satisfy children’s creativity.

Q. What are the school hours?

The school day begins at 7:25 a.m. and ends at 2:13 p.m.  Students are asked to arrive by 7:25 to be ready for hall prayer.

Q. Do the children attend Mass during the school week?

All students attend Mass on Fridays at 1 PM.  Every Wednesday, students in grades 4-8 also attend Mass.

Q. Is there First Communion preparation through the school?

In second grade, First Reconciliation and First Communion preparations are taught by the second-grade teacher.

Q. Is the school building safe and secure?

St. Charles School is very safe and secure. Outside doors are locked during the day, and visitors to the school must be buzzed in.  Security doors and a gate were installed in 2011 to add to the security of the school. We recently installed The Boot on all classrooms occupied by children. 

Q. What if my child needs a special service, such as speech therapy?

Ancillary services are provided by the Montcalm Area Intermediate School District.  Speech therapy is held two days per week.  Other services are available if needed.
