Lectors provide an essential ministry and service during liturgies by proclaiming the scripture readings, Psalms, and announcing the Prayers of the Faithful. Lectors are scheduled approximately one Mass per 6 weeks. Some training is required. Regular responsibilities include careful preparation of the readings when scheduled. Baptized Catholics serious about their faith are eligible to join.
