Feeding the Hungry In Our Community

St. Charles God’s Community Kitchen

God’s Community Kitchen Update

At this time of year, we may think about getting together with family for Thanksgiving, baking holiday cookies, visiting friends, etc.  Some of those who are less fortunate are thinking about where their next hot meal is coming from.

We have been providing a meal to the needy in the Greenville area for over a year now.  We started with once or twice a month in October, November and December 2021.  We have been providing a weekly meal every Saturday since then.  The meals have been appreciated.  Some of our recipients are homeless, some are living on such a tight budget that they are out of food by Saturday and depend on us.

You, too, can help.  We have opportunities available to help each week as Meal Leaders, cooks, and servers.   Please use the sign-up-genius to volunteer.   Jesus calls us to feed the hungry.  Let’s follow his call and make Jesus smile.

Thursday Supper at St. Joseph

Take-out only meals are served to anyone in need every 1st and 3rd Thursday of each month between 4:00 and 5:00 pm. We serve an average of 110 people each week, so extra hands are always welcome. This is an excellent opportunity to share your time and talent to serve God by serving the community.  If you would like to help one Thursday a month, giving about 3 hours of service, contact Marie.   Thank you for considering this!
