Palm Sunday & Holy Week to be Livestreamed from St. Charles

While we are unable to experience the solemnity and beauty of Holy Week through public worship this year, we can, in other ways, bring the celebrations of these holiest days of the year into being in our homes, including through livestreaming of the liturgies.

Please join us for the live broadcasts of the liturgies of Holy Week with Fr. Jim Wyse presiding.  These will not be open to the public.

Watch on Facebook, or on our website(link to be shared soon). View a detailed schedule here:

The Ten Commandments and Civil Law ~ Video by Fr. Bauer

On the First Sunday of Advent we blessed the beautiful carvings of the Ten Commandments that were gifted to all three of our churches.  These will now be a visual reminder of how we are called to live our lives.  To better understand moral and natural law and how these have been at the cornerstone of our civil law follow the link to watch a short video.  You may be surprised to see who is depicted twice on the Supreme Court building in Washington D. C.

Beware! Scammers are Impersonating our Priests

Scammers continue to contact our parishioners by text, email, and Facebook Messenger.  Please ignore any messages coming to you from Fr. Jim for Fr. Bauer. Our priests will contact you by phone if they need to talk to you about anything. Call the parish office to let them know if you have received one of these messages.

Scammers are impersonating priests in the Diocese of Grand Rapids, asking parishioners to respond to an urgent request via email or text for cash or to buy iTunes or other gift cards for cancer patients. Please notify the parish and do not respond to these requests. When requests from Father Jim or Fr. Bauer are urgent, the parish office will call you.

Scammers pose as priests in texts/email, ask parishioners for gift cards, cash

Introducing the New YM3 Coordinators for Our Catholic Community!

We are happy to announce that we have hired new Youth Ministry Coordinators for our Catholic Community of St. Charles & St. Joseph-St. Mary. Jake & Melanie Schmiedicke will work as a team in the YM3 position.

We are both honored and excited to have the opportunity to serve the youth of our community by being the YM3 coordinators this coming year! We hope to use our experiences as college campus missionaries, teachers, and lifelong Catholics to share the treasures of our Faith with the teens and to help them come to know God’s amazing love for each of them. Lived to the fullest, the Catholic life is the best life, as our relationship with God should inform everything that we do – whether it be studying for classes, working a job, or hanging out with friends. We look forward to living the great adventure of the Catholic life with the young men and women of our community.

Video Message from Bishop Walkowiak

In a continuing effort to be as transparent as possible, Bishop Walkowiak has taken time to create a video message for the faithful of the Diocese of Grand Rapids ahead of the worldwide meeting of bishops at the Vatican. The worldwide meeting, which will gather presidents of bishops’ conferences from around the world to discuss the clergy sexual abuse scandal and our global response as a Catholic Church will take place from Feb. 21 – 24. The video addresses the meeting and some of the frequently asked questions he has received from parishioners.
